## Create a new task
For iOS, I use [this shortcut](https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/55cdf46a050c42f7b7f56c00c9821ba3) to quickly make tasks from an icon on my home screen.

# Apps
## iOS
There are plenty of text editors on the iOS App Store, but I discovered many will take your file and copy them into their own separate location instead of just editing them in place so here are a few that I recommend for editing in place.
### [Pretext](https://apps.apple.com/app/id1347707000) (Freemium)
Nice and simple coat, editor that lets you look directly into your file system and edit in place.
### [Runestone](https://apps.apple.com/app/id1548193893) (Freemium)
Similar to Pretext, and that it allows you to view the Files app within the app itself and select the file that you want to edit. I prefer the writing interface in Pretext personally. Like Pretext this tends to remember the directory you last used as well.
### [iA Writer](https://apps.apple.com/app/id775737172) (Paid)
This is a high-quality markdown editor that is great for writing and it also lets you work within a directory as opposed to picking a file from Files.app to load into the app. That being said it's great as an editor, but because it has its own representation of the file system often it can get out of sync and end up putting files that were previously deleted back in place.
