I came up with this idea when I got fed up at how I kept **getting behind on my emails**.
The first-and-last strategy is like an algorithm for how best to tackle your inbox whether or not you manage to read it all. The idea is to simply **read all your emails from today, then all of the emails from the oldest day**. When you're done reading, archive them away and **continue the pattern**.

Eventually, all the messages will be read but at all times, limits are placed on how long anyone will wait for me to answer their message.
While I do want to make sure every message is read in a timely manner, knowing that my present task is always to read only the messages from today and the messages in the oldest day, the whole endeavor feels much more manageable.
